Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced the 7th batch of Provincial-Level Industrial Design Centers. Guangdong JE Furniture Co., Ltd. has been officially recognized as a Provincial Industrial Design Center, marking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term commitment to design-driven development.

This recognition is not only a validation of over a decade of continuous investment in design, but also a new starting point in JE Furniture’s evolution—from product-level innovation to the development of new-quality productive forces through systematic industrial design. From learning and collaboration to independent innovation, from talent cultivation to standard-setting leadership, JE Furniture demonstrates a clear and sustainable path toward high-quality development in the office furniture industry.

Global Collaboration, Strengthening Original Design Capability

In 2015, JE Furniture initiated its global design strategy, establishing long-term strategic partnerships with leading design teams from Germany, Italy and the United States. Through deep collaboration and hands-on projects, the company systematically absorbed advanced international design concepts while grounding them in local market insights. Over more than a decade and dozens of collaborative projects, JE Furniture has built an original design system that integrates global vision with local understanding, completing the transition from collaborative innovation to independent design leadership.

Dual-Track Development: Cultivating Design Talent

Innovation is rooted in people, and the future of design belongs to the next generation. JE Furniture has developed a dual-track talent ecosystem combining internal development and external engagement. Externally, the company launched the JE Innovation Award in 2020—a national design competition for university students in office furniture design—creating a practical platform that encourages learning through competition and innovation through practice. To date, the program has received over 2,000 design proposals. Internally, JE Furniture has established a professional title and incentive system for industrial designers, encouraging continued education, professional evaluation, and long-term career development. This approach forms a healthy talent pipeline that balances external introduction with internal cultivation.

Strong Infrastructure, Building a Reliable Quality Foundation

Design innovation requires solid technical support. JE Furniture has established one of China’s leading office furniture testing centers, equipped with facilities for ergonomics testing, material mechanics analysis, and environmental simulation. The center is certified by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). From design validation to quality control, from low-carbon material testing to healthy seating data collection, the testing center provides full lifecycle technical assurance—ensuring that every design concept is translated into products that are safe, durable, sustainable and trustworthy.

Design-Led Innovation, Recognized on the Global Stage

Sustained investment in design has delivered strong results. Grounded in ergonomics, expressed through spatial aesthetics, and driven by sustainability and well-being, JE Furniture products have received more than 30 international and domestic design awards, including Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, IDEA Award, Red Cotton Award and other authoritative recognitions. These achievements reflect not only design excellence, but also the global resonance of JE Furniture’s core philosophy: health, aesthetics and sustainability.

Setting Standards, Advancing Industry Development

Building on years of design practice and data accumulation, JE Furniture actively assumes industry responsibility. In 2024, the company led the development of the group standard “Office Chair Design Guidelines and User Experience Evaluation Methods.” This standard innovatively incorporates criteria such as healthy seating biomechanics, low-carbon material application, and aesthetic adaptability, filling gaps in user experience evaluation and green design standards within China’s office chair industry. The initiative helps shift industry competition from product-based to value-driven development.

Advancing Certification, Strengthening Industry Leadership

From district-level recognition in Shunde to provincial-level certification in Guangdong, JE Furniture has steadily advanced its design credentials.
